Memorization Is A Spiritual Life-Hack.

Memorization can feel intimidating at first, but this simple daily practice can unlock real growth in your walk with God.

01

It Changes Your Behaviour.

Everyone's behaviour is influenced by something. The culture around you. The shows you watch. The feeds you scroll. The influencers you follow.

Or God's word.

Jesus says:

"For out of the overflow of the heart, the mouth speaks."

Luke 6:45 BSB

That is why God commands us to meditate on his word day and night.

"This Book of the Law must not depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. For then you will prosper and succeed in all you do."

Joshua 1:8 BSB

02

It Changes Your Desires.

Delight trains desire.

"Delight yourself in the LORD, and He will give you the desires of your heart."

Psalm 37:4 BSB

When you meditate on God's word, your heart starts wanting what God wants.

03

It Reduces Anxiety.

Anxiety rehearses the "what ifs".

Scripture memorization helps you rehearse God's truth.

"...whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable--if anything is excellent or praiseworthy--think on these things."

Philippians 4:8 BSB

That leads to peace:

"You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you!"

Isaiah 26:3 NLT

04

It Leads To Answered Prayer And Much Fruit.

Check out this promise Jesus made:

"If you remain in Me and My words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. This is to My Father's glory, that you bear much fruit, proving yourselves to be My disciples."

John 15:7-8 BSB

Who doesn't want answered prayer and much fruit? Jesus connects both to His words remaining in us. So get His words in you.
